March Earring of the Month: 2nd Story Goods

We adore these trendy everyday earrings from Haiti.

Your March Bracelet of the Month is incredibly bittersweet. These beautiful clay bead and tassel bracelets were made by the women at Caring For Korah. The clay beads are kneaded by hand, shaped, and dried for 15 days. They are then heated by fire, which turns the brown colored beads black. Next, they are cleaned and glossed before they are used to make jewelry. It is an incredible process! You may remember when we told you there was an avalanche in Korah, a community built along one of the large garbage dumps in Ethiopia. Hundreds of men, women, and children were buried alive. In trash. One of the women who made our bracelets lost her life, along with her precious sons. Your purchase helps us empower women in difficult situations like these.
